All five parliamentary parties agree: infrastructure boom-and-bust cycle must end

Labour, National, the Greens, NZ First and ACT shared a stage at the Big Infrastructure Debate on 6 August and agreed across party lines that New Zealand's decades-long boom-and-bust infrastructure spending cycle must end. Engineering NZ chief executive Dr Richard Templer said stop-start investment has cost the country billions in lost productivity and urged parties to commit to the Infrastructure Commission's 30-year plan.
