Endangered Pygmy Hippo Calf Born at Toronto Zoo

A female pygmy hippo calf was born at the Toronto Zoo on August 5, 2026, to 20-year-old mother Kindia. The species is listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List, with roughly 2,000–3,000 individuals remaining in the wild.
