Cabinet blocks Stanford's proposal to scrap RSE worker cap

Immigration Minister Erica Stanford proposed removing the annual cap on Pacific RSE workers at a Cabinet committee meeting last month, newly released government papers show. The proposal did not appear in decision minutes, meaning it was stopped at committee stage and never reached full Cabinet. Stanford's office said the idea was considered but put aside ahead of the RSE announcement.
