Rotorua mayor says Luxon needn't have apologised — after Luxon did

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon apologised for telling Rotorua businesses they had a "parent-child mentality," saying "I got that wrong." But Rotorua mayor Tania Tapsell, a former National MP who was not at the event, said he didn't need to apologise. "The country needs leaders who tell the truth," she said. Chamber president Paul Ingram, who was present, wanted "genuine reflection behind it."
