2026 Total Solar Eclipse Coincides With Perseid Meteor Shower Peak

On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse crosses Greenland, Iceland, and northern Spain — the first to reach mainland Europe since 1999. The date also marks the peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower.
