Greens bet on Burrard Inlet backlash in North Vancouver–Capilano by-election
Green Leader Elizabeth May says the party can win the North Vancouver–Capilano by-election Aug. 31 by targeting Ottawa's approval of dredging Vancouver's Burrard Inlet for larger Trans Mountain oil tankers. Candidate Shelley Luce, an environmental scientist, faces Liberal Braeden Caley and Conservative Stephen Curran. Poll analyst Éric Grenier calls a Green win "quite a surprise," but conceded he underestimated the party after its P.E.I. upset.
