HP has replaced its $800 Victus 15 budget gaming laptop with the HyperX Omen 15, starting at $1,199. The 50% price jump partly reflects a DDR5 shortage the industry has dubbed "RAMageddon." HP still sells a Victus 15 with RTX 5050 for $900, but it ships with 8GB of RAM — a practical constraint for 2026 titles. The entry-level segment HP once dominated now has no true successor.
