EU Right to Repair Takes Effect, but Many Member States Haven't Passed Implementing Law
Directive (EU) 2024/1799 reached its transposition deadline on July 31, 2026, making the EU Right to Repair operative across all 27 member states. Yet many national legislatures have not passed implementing law, leaving consumers in those countries unable to enforce repair rights — free manuals, transparent parts pricing, reasonable timelines, and extended warranties — in domestic courts. Germany completed transposition earlier in July.
