
High Court Clears Final Legal Obstacle to China's New 'Super-Embassy' in London
Two High Court judges dismissed a challenge by residents representing about 100 properties near the Tower of London against UK planning approval for China's new embassy complex. Residents had raised concerns over fire safety, diplomatic immunity, protest repression, and targeting of dissidents. The court found the government "conscientiously and carefully had regard" to those concerns. Construction can now proceed.
