Georgia father sentenced to 15 years for giving son the gun used in school shooting
Colin Gray, 55, was sentenced to 15 years in prison on July 30, 2026, after a Barrow County jury convicted him of second-degree murder and manslaughter for giving his teenage son the firearm used in the 2024 Apalachee High School shooting that killed four. Gray faced up to 80 years. His son Colt, 16, received life without parole. The case marks a novel extension of murder liability to a parent for providing a weapon, one other states may study.
