Florida Seeks to Redirect $200M in Federal EV Charging Funds to Air Taxi Vertiports

Florida's Department of Transportation plans to repurpose nearly $200 million in NEVI federal EV charging funds for 32 eVTOL vertiports at sites including golf courses, airports, and luxury apartments. Florida never spent its NEVI allocation, claiming private charging suffices. The FHWA must still approve the reallocation for a transportation mode with no commercial passenger service.
