Justice Department Files First-Ever Case in 1996 Alien Terrorist Removal Court
The Justice Department filed the first case in the Alien Terrorist Removal Court, created by Congress in 1996 to allow classified evidence in deportation proceedings. The court had gone unused for nearly 30 years. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed the filing seeks to deport Nazira Haji Zada, 47, a Fort Worth lawful permanent resident accused of supporting ISIS. Her hearing was set for Thursday.
