ING's defence-financing shift meets new CRO vote in same week

ING published its shift in defence-sector financing "from cautious to considered" the same week shareholders vote on Andrea Cesaroni as chief risk officer at a 31 July EGM. Cesaroni, head of Integrated Risk since 2022, would fill the role vacant since Ljiljana Čortan's February departure. Defence financing — spanning credit, reputational, and policy risk — will be an early test of his tenure.
