Protest group claims 30 killed in Pakistan-administered Kashmir elections; authorities report one security death

The Joint Awami Action Committee says more than 30 supporters were killed during the first round of regional elections in Pakistan-administered Kashmir on July 27, with at least 10 more deaths the next day. Authorities say one security officer died and five were injured. JAAC was banned under anti-terrorism laws in June. Amnesty International calls the ban unlawful. Two more voting rounds remain.
