Ghana's Tallest Man, Sulemana Abdul Samed, Dies at 33

Sulemana Abdul Samed, known as "Awuche" and widely regarded as Ghana's tallest man, died July 27, 2026, at age 33. A resident of Gambaga told the BBC that doctors had said he was responding well to treatment before his sudden death. Samed had Marfan syndrome and gigantism, with abnormal growth beginning at age 22.
