Berlin Pride Attacker Pledged Allegiance to ISIS in Video Found by German Prosecutors

Germany's federal prosecutor confirmed on July 28, 2026, that a video found on a phone inside the rented minivan used in the Berlin Pride attack shows suspect Abdul Ballout pledging allegiance to ISIL. The July 25 assault killed a 65-year-old Polish woman and injured 31. Interior Minister Dobrindt said authorities "assume the person in the video is the suspect." It is the first official indication of an ideological motive.
