Pupils in England to study technical subjects from age 14 under government reforms

The government has announced reforms allowing pupils in England from age 14 to study technical subjects such as manufacturing and AI alongside English and maths. Ministers described it as a "fundamental change to the education system," with courses linked to local industries. New work pathways are expected to operate in some areas by 2028.
