Meta Working on Hardware-Level Camera Disabling for Smart Glasses to Counter Misuse

Meta spokesperson Albert Aydin confirmed the company is developing a feature to disable cameras on Meta smart glasses when tampering is detected. The feature has not shipped, and what constitutes "tampering" was not specified. The effort follows Instagram head Adam Mosseri's announcement that the platform will remove harassing "pickup line" videos filmed covertly with Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
