House Passes $1.15 Trillion Defense Bill, Now Faces Senate That Already Blocked It

The House passed the $1.15 trillion FY2027 defense authorization bill on July 22 in a 216–212 vote, with six Democrats joining Republicans. Rep. Adam Smith said the bill "comes with the inclusion of $1.15 trillion in discretionary spending."
