AMWU demands wealth tax, inheritance tax and new top rate ahead of Labor conference

The AMWU has released a 32-page "blueprint for action" ahead of Labor's Adelaide conference, demanding a new marginal rate on income above $500,000, an annual wealth tax excluding the family home, and an inheritance tax on large bequests. The union calls the tax system "rigged in favour of private wealth accumulation and speculation." None of the proposals has been costed.
