Three Killed, Hundreds Displaced as Torrential Storms Batter 1,000 km of Chile

Torrential storms spanning roughly 1,000 kilometers of central and southern Chile have killed at least three people and displaced 466 into shelters, per disaster agency SENAPRED. Over 200 were evacuated, 20 homes destroyed or severely damaged, and 158 residents isolated by floodwaters. Further heavy rainfall was expected July 17 in Chile's central zone, with schools suspending classes.
