Tory MP Patrick Spencer acquitted of sexual assault charges

Conservative MP Patrick Spencer was found not guilty of two counts of sexual assault at Southwark Crown Court on 17 July 2026. A jury of eight men and four women cleared him after seven hours' deliberation. Spencer, 38, MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, had been accused of touching two women's breasts at the Groucho Club in Soho in August 2023.
