Nolan's The Odyssey Is First Feature Shot Entirely on IMAX 1570 Cameras

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, released July 17, 2026, is the first feature film shot entirely on IMAX 1570 cameras. Each camera weighs 180 kilograms. Nolan developed a soundproofing "blimp" with IMAX to make the cameras quiet enough for dialogue recording — a first for the 1570 system. The $250 million production is projected to earn $80–100 million on its opening North American weekend.
