New Zealand First now holds the coalition's majority as National slumps

The latest RNZ-Reid Research poll shows New Zealand First recording its strongest result in nine years, propelling it to carry the National-led coalition's 61-seat parliamentary majority. National itself slumped 2.1 points to 28.7 percent. For a first-term government twelve months from election day, relying on a junior coalition partner rather than its own strength is an exposed position.
