Opportunity Party Edges Close to the Kingmaker Zone
The Opportunity Party polled at 4.7 percent in the latest RNZ-Reid Research survey, its highest result ever and within margin of error of the 5 percent threshold needed to enter Parliament without an electorate seat. A 1News-Verian poll showed similar results at 4.6 percent. If the party clears 5 percent on election night, it could hold enough seats to decide which major party forms government—a genuinely uncommitted bloc neither Labour nor National can take for granted.
