Infant Dies as Israeli Soldiers Block Ambulance at West Bank Gate

Three-month-old Ahmad Zaid died en route to hospital in Ramallah after Israeli soldiers refused to open the Deir Ammar military gate blocking his ambulance's path. His father pleaded with soldiers to let the critically ill infant pass. Soldiers responded with tear gas and stun grenades, forcing the family to detour on dirt roads. Ahmad was pronounced dead at 3:20pm. The gate has been closed indefinitely since February.
