Android TV owners are using AI-written tools to strip ads and tracking without rooting

Owners of TCL, Hisense and Sony Android TVs use LLM-written tools such as Cleanyourtv, tv-detox and dumbtv to remove sponsored content and block viewing-data collection. The tools use built-in developer modes and Android Debug Bridge (ADB), requiring no root access, and changes can be reversed. Tizen and webOS offer no comparable non-root option; Roku and Vizio SmartCast are unsupported.
