FCC Blocks First Two Devices Under Its Chip-Based Authority
The FCC blocked two devices, a dashboard camera and a wireless video transmitter, as containing "foreign surveillance chips," its first use of chip-based authority granted October 13. The devices are barred from U.S. marketing and sale. The FCC did not name the specific brands or models. The authority reaches any gadget containing a chip from a Covered List company.
