Middle East oil flows top prewar levels despite Iranian attacks in Hormuz

Middle East oil flows averaged more than 24 million barrels a day in the week through October 18, surpassing prewar levels, the Wall Street Journal reported October 20. The flows held up despite Iranian attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Bloomberg, reporting October 21, said the October-to-date average remains below prewar levels, as shipments are volatile.
