Individual investors and second-home buyers made 20% of U.S. home purchases in September, up from 15% in August and the highest share in just over a year, MarketWatch reported. September's mortgage rate was 7.03%, according to Realtor.com. I see cash-heavy buyers absorbing homes that payment-stretched borrowers won't touch.
