UK health body approves two new endometriosis tests to cut 9-year diagnostic delay

NICE cleared EndoSure and Endotest for NHS use in England and Wales on July 7, 2026, in draft form. Both are non-invasive second-line tools for women whose symptoms persist after imaging proves inconclusive or negative. EndoSure measures gut electrical signals in 45 minutes; Endotest analyzes saliva for microRNA markers with 95% sensitivity. A three-year evaluation will determine permanent status. The approval targets endometriosis's notorious diagnostic lag—currently nine years and four months on average in the UK.
