October Fed hike odds jump to 34% after 0.3% core inflation print
Markets see a 34% chance of an October Fed rate hike, up from 20% before September inflation data, according to CBA strategist Samara Hammoud. Core inflation — prices excluding food and energy — rose 0.3% on the month versus 0.2% expected. Higher odds keep upward pressure on borrowing costs. I'm skeptical one print settles it.
