U.S. EV Sales Reached 262,649 in Q3 for Third Straight Gain

U.S. buyers purchased 262,649 new EVs in Q3 2026, up 6.1% from Q2 for 6.4% of new-vehicle sales, according to Cox Automotive. It was the highest quarterly total since record-setting Q3 2025 and the third consecutive quarterly increase after sales tanked following tax-credit cancellation.
