Pre-dawn Falcon 9 launch produced jellyfish cloud visible from Georgia to New York
SpaceX's Falcon 9 cargo launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 6:33 a.m. ET Oct. 13 produced a jellyfish-shaped cloud visible from Georgia to New York. The rocket flew northeast over the Atlantic 48 minutes before sunrise. The cloud was caused by an expanding plume of fuel exhaust crystallizing and reflecting sunlight off frozen particles.
