The UK's schools inspectorate has removed guidance claiming autistic children face heightened extremism risk, the government confirmed July 5, 2026. The document—used to train inspectors assessing Prevent safeguarding compliance—cited special interests, social isolation, and online trust as vulnerability factors. Rights & Security International exposed it in June 2025. Naturalist Chris Packham and disability groups campaigned against it for over a year. Ofsted has not yet published replacement training materials, leaving schools and authorities without clear guidance.
