Latin American crime groups operate in at least 12 European countries
Cartels and gangs from Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela, Mexico and the US operate in at least 12 European countries, a four-month Guardian investigation found. The groups forged ties with local mafias amid surging cocaine trafficking. Presence is more prominent in Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. The count covers only judicially documented cases.
