Egypt's press union chief rejects pressure over detained journalists

Egypt's Journalists Syndicate head Khaled Elbalshy rejected pressure over six detained journalists from investigative website Matsadaash. He said: "An infringement of one journalist's freedom is an infringement of everyone's freedom and a weakening of the safeguards protecting that freedom." He said an accused person is innocent until proven guilty. The syndicate filed a torture complaint with the public prosecutor.
