EU and China agree to cap Chinese hybrid imports at 350,000 a year
The EU and China have agreed a four-year deal in Beijing to limit Chinese hybrid imports to 350,000 cars yearly from December, the Commission confirms. With about 800,000 such vehicles likely sold in 2026, the cap would cut flows by more than half. It will be implemented under WTO safeguard measures.
