
Manhattan Prosecutors Oppose Dismissal of Mangione State Murder Case
Manhattan prosecutors asked a judge to reject Luigi Mangione's bid to dismiss his New York murder case over the 4 December 2024 killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. They argue his 14 August guilty plea to federal stalking charges does not bar state prosecution under New York's double-jeopardy exception for non-overlapping offenses.
