Ex-CIA official hid $40 million in government gold in home basement

Former senior CIA official David J. Rush stashed 298 federal gold bars worth over $40 million in his Virginia home's basement, prosecutors said. FBI agents recovered the bars, plus about $2,106,550 and €104,795, in a May 19 search. Rush obtained the bullion by inventing a bogus classified government activity.
