Justice Department says UCLA Law illegally used race in admissions

The Justice Department said Oct. 1 that UCLA School of Law illegally considered race in admissions, favoring Black and Hispanic applicants over white and Asian American applicants in 2023-2025. UCLA denied the accusation, saying admissions comply with law. The department said the conduct violates Title VI and the Supreme Court's 2023 admissions decision.
