Supreme Court to Decide on No-Bond Detention for Undocumented Immigrants

The Supreme Court agreed Oct. 1, 2026, to decide if the Trump administration can hold undocumented immigrants without bond during deportation cases. Before 2025, bond was possible absent flight or safety risk; officials reinterpreted the law in 2025 to require detention. A ruling for the government would authorize no-bond detention for tens of thousands.
