Hegseth announces Project Meridian warfare study led by Musk, Luckey, Gingrich

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Project Meridian on September 30, 2026, a Pentagon initiative to study future warfare. Elon Musk will co-lead with Anduril CEO Palmer Luckey and former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Its stated goal is “identifying the capabilities required to achieve absolute technological dominance on the next-generation battlefield.”
