Colleges rush 3,000 enrolments before axed diploma cut-off

Private colleges issued nearly 3,000 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) enrolments in the weeks before its 5 October deregistration. More than 1,300 were new since the 4 September ban announcement; more than 1,500 future starts were brought forward. Assistant Minister Julian Hill said non-genuine students misused the course to remain in Australia. The numbers invite scepticism.
