Anthropic Says Sonnet 5.5 Beats Opus 5.5 on Agentic Coding

Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5.5 on September 28, 2026. The company says its own benchmarks show the mid-tier model outperforming Opus 5.5 on agentic coding workloads involving multi-step tool use.
