Ribbie.tv launched on 23 June as a live gamecast platform that converts MLB games into 8-bit sprite-based broadcasts. By rendering real-time game data as pixel art rather than video, the platform avoids the rights licensing that constrains traditional broadcasters. MLB's media restrictions are among the most tightly managed in sports; a service that never touches video footage may operate in a regulatory lane competitors cannot easily access.
