Suspected North Korean hackers steal $351.6M from Bitget in largest 2026 crypto heist

Suspected North Korean hackers stole approximately $351.6 million from cryptocurrency exchange Bitget, the largest known digital currency heist of 2026 to date. The breach involved unauthorized transfers from internet-connected hot wallets used for active trading. Bitget suspended crypto withdrawals after the breach. CEO Gracy Chen said the breach was highly consistent with known North Korean hacker patterns.
