RAF Hawk T2 Crashes and Explodes Shortly After Takeoff in Anglesey

An RAF Hawk T2 crashed and exploded at Pencarnisiog, less than two miles from RAF Valley on Anglesey, shortly after takeoff on Sept. 23. Both pilots ejected and parachuted to ground with injuries thought to be minor. RAF confirmed the incident and said an investigation is under way. Fire crews say the fire is now under control.
