Trump tells Burnham he opposes Chagos deal as 'terrible'

Donald Trump told Andy Burnham at their 22 September UN meeting in New York he opposes the UK-Mauritius Chagos treaty, saying: "I don't support it. I think it's terrible". The treaty would transfer sovereignty to Mauritius while Britain leases back the Diego Garcia base for 99 years. UK officials say it is on hold while Trump objects.
