MPI cites Ozempic demand in push for fish farm growth

Fisheries Minister Shane Jones brought industry leaders and MPI officials together in Wellington to discuss open-ocean fish farming. MPI strategy director Chris Kerr said GLP-1 drugs Ozempic and Wegovy are driving demand for premium, nutrient-dense protein, alongside two billion more mouths to feed in 25 years.
